What do i need to colonize a planet/asteroid ?

To colonize a planet/asteroid a few steps are required.

Design

You need two designs.

First you need a probe. You can create it under "Design". Select here Class "Probe". For the first places the slowest engine should be enough.

If you want to fly out of your system, you need a jump engine in the unit..

The second design that needs to be created is a colony ship.

Production

You need to build a shipyard on your planet. After that you can build the unit production if you have researched every required technology.

If you have everything you need you can build a few probes and a colony ship.

Find planet/asteroid

After you have your first probes, you can send them to find a new place. For that you need to go to "discover". After the probe arrives you will get a report

Colonize planet/asteroid

If you have found a planet or an asteroid you can colonize it. You can find it unter "Places".

After the colony ship arrives you can start construction there.
